This beautiful basket is authentic, unique and handmade, in accordance with the ancestral techniques of basket weaving. Through finger weaving, following the over/under pattern, the strands interwine and interlock, thus creating stable, solid and useful baskets without glue or nail! Each basket is numbered and signed.
Each basket is unique. The images give a good idea of the one you’ll receive. The making of these baskets makes them all unique. This is why color, gradients, motives and format can vary from one to another. See it as the pledge of a work done by hand.

Fabienne et Nathalie Clément make rattan basketry objects, an art that is both creative and relaxing. Their hands shape matter while their brain is in charge of counting the ranks. Quietly, they repeat the gestures of a traditional technique used by so many craftsmen before her. And that contributes to their pride!
Regular maintenance of your rattan basket: you can clean it using a sponge or a soft brush soaked in lukewarm water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid. For cleaning a dirty basket, use a water solution to which you will add sea salt or a few drops of white vinegar. Always use a soft cloth or a soft brush to avoid damaging the material of your basket.
Drying the rattan basket should receive a little more attention, and do not let your basket soak in water, nor soak it too much with liquid. It may not dry well and therefore mold. It is best to wipe the basket well with a dry cloth and let it dry in the sun. For days without sun, use a hair dryer that you set on a lukewarm breath, without getting too close to the basket. Keep a distance of 30cm to protect the rattan from heat damage.
