      About the Pattern
The Anishinabe see the thunderbird as one of the greatest spiritual beings. It protects us and ensures the life of all living beings. The thunderbird teaches us that all living things must be treated with respect and integrity for our survival. This sacred bird comes from the west in the spring and brings thunderstorms and rain. He does the same before returning west for the winter. The thunderbird is the symbol of power, protection, strength and survival.
